RES4CITY stands out at Transfiere event in Malaga!

Malaga, Spain, 15 February, 2023 – Finnova, the Belgian foundation that works for the promotion and development of innovation and entrepreneurship in the EU, had a prominent participation in the Transfiere event that took place in Malaga.

The event, which was held on February 15, 16 and 17, brought together numerous companies and institutions around Science, Technology and Innovation.

Finnova took the opportunity to present its latest initiatives and projects in the field of financial innovation. Among them, it highlighted its startup acceleration program, which aims to boost entrepreneurship and innovation in the financial sector.

The presentation of the RES4CITY program by Manuela Granada was the most outstanding part of the conference. RES4CITY is a research and innovation initiative funded by the European Commission, whose main objective is to create a suite of education programs and tools providing inclusive opportunities for all learners to develop skills in renewable energy systems, fuel technologies, and sustainability. The project focuses on the integration of renewable energy systems in buildings and the promotion of electric mobility.

During her presentation, Manuela Granada highlighted the importance of innovation in the field of urban sustainability and presented the progress and results obtained so far in the framework of RES4CITY. She also stressed the need to continue working on innovative projects that contribute to sustainable development and the welfare of people.

In addition, Finnova also participated in several round tables and conferences, which addressed topics such as science, European funding and the role of companies in driving innovation.
It was a participation highly valued by the attendees and by the organizers of the event, who stressed the importance of having the collaboration of companies and institutions that are committed to innovation and entrepreneurship.

In short, the presence of Finnova presenting the RES4CITY project in Transfiere was a great success in promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing around financial innovation and technology transfer.

RES4CITY is an innovative European educational project 100% funded by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe Program. Its main objective is to bridge the skills gap that is slowing down our transition to sustainable energy. It is being designed by a multidisciplinary group of partners from academia, industry and European NGOs with expertise in energy management, renewable energy systems, renewable fuel technologies and the development and implementation of sustainability strategy design. RES4CITY aims to ensure that education systems are at the heart of the ecological transition. The team is co-designing a set of microcredidental programs aimed at Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) graduates and non-STEM graduates, as well as professionals seeking retraining in a wide variety of sectors and career paths. These microcredidentals will respond to the needs and priorities of companies, public institutions and citizens.
