Presentation of the RES4CITY project at the Conference on best practices in the Alentejo-Algarve-Andalusia Euroregion in Circular Economy and Waste Prevention.

Our Director of European Funds, Juan Viesca, has participated in the Conference of good practices in the Euroregion Alentejo-Algarve-Andalusia in Circular Economy and Waste Prevention, exposing and moderating the second block of the meeting, the financing of European projects, focusing on the «Next Generation EU» funds for post-pandemic recovery, the multiannual financial framework and highlighting the direct management funds with the European Union.

The direct management funds can be directly applied for by the interested parties to the European Commission without having the Member States as intermediaries and are characterized by being innovative projects, which emphasize different European policies and which are evaluated in competitive concurrence.  In addition, one of the main differences is the obligation to have other European countries as partners in the project.

Likewise, the RES4CITY project. This project, financed by Horizon Europe and involving Finnova, several European universities and other international institutions, such as the United Nations Directorate-General for Vocational Training (UNITAR), aims to analyze training needs in the energy sector and organize training courses for the sector through the micro-credential system, an innovative teaching methodology developed by the European Commission.

The RES4CITY project has been presented with the aim of creating synergies with other projects that have attended, as well as with the community of Seville and the municipalities that are part of it.

It is a Horizon Europe funded project that aims to enhance the development of sustainable renewable energy and fuel technologies in cities by promoting sustainability and circularity, and by deploying an innovative educational programme, co-designed with stakeholders, to develop highly qualified human capital, to enable results with high replicability across different educational systems.
